Re: Do you value the forum?

It would be helpful to know what the annual running costs are so that an appropriate donation can be made.

Re: Imp Based parts for sale.

Hi
Thought the 930 pump had been sold.
What are you asking for the pump including the impeller housing ?

Fuel System

Does anybody have a clear idea of what the completed fuel system should look like for a standard road car. There was a previous post about cross-syphoning but not much else. I've tried to find a simple answer to measuring fuel in the tanks. All the tank sender units I've seen are no use for this dep...

Re: rebuilding davrians

Hi Dave Car is in Dundee and currently dismantled with bits everywhere. Not much worth seeing at the moment. Also renovating my house in a big way so all is chaos. I'm concentrating on getting all the small but essential bits and pieces to complete each system. Re-assembly has stalled on the use of ...

Re: rebuilding davrians

Hi Dave Just aware of your post about rebuilding Davrians. You were helping with my water pump options and I thought I should explain where I'm at. I've had lots of Imps and variants in the past but I was always defeated by rust. I bought a new Mk8 in the early 80s just before the company went bust....

Re: Water Pump - Talbot Sunbeam 930

Hi Dave Thanks for your advice. You've got so many photos of your Mk6 I couldn't find the one you describe. In any case I've seen how it's done. Hillman Imp electric pump.JPG My main concern is reliability. Overheating is the kiss of death for an Imp engine. Fan belt failure is a rare event in a roa...

Re: Water Pump - Talbot Sunbeam 930

I decided it would be a good idea to use the 930 pump. I now find that the 'pumps' advertised do not include the impeller housing. These 'pumps' are only worth buying if you already have a housing. I have not managed to find anyone selling complete pumps or impeller housings. 930 pump.jpg This is ty...

Re: Water Pump - Talbot Sunbeam 930

Hi Graham Thanks for all the advice and the excellent photos. I can now understand the appearance of pumps for sale which seem to show only the front part of the pump. I suppose the remote housing rear section would be a separate item. I have a 930 pump on a B1 engine, but I'm reluctant to transfer ...

Water Pump - Talbot Sunbeam 930

Does anyone have any info about fitting the B1 engine water pump to the standard Imp engine. Is it a better pump ? It seems to be more easily available and cheaper but I'm a bit confused as to whether the same pump was fitted to the 1.3 and 1.6 models. It also seems the pumps are different for fixed...
