Re: screen

Hi Dean, You may know that the screen from a Mk 8, 7 and Darrian are all from an Alfa Romeo Guilia from about the late 1960s,haven't got the part number to hand but I think it has 210 as part of the reference. I'm guessing that you are looking for a laminated screen,so most screen suppliers should b...

Re: Hello

Would have thought that if you are changing the engine and not keeping original then there would be little point in keeping the transaxle. Most people would consider the transaxle as big a problem as the engine particularly when higher power outputs are used and jack knight or similar parts are expen...

Re: "Classic and Sportscar" - Imp 50th anniversary photo shoot

Bought 'Classic and Sportscar' yesterday and yes there is a reasonable article on Imps including a bit about Davrians. Unfortunately rather superficial with inaccuracies as usual, but John Rawlins with his Mk8,flew the Davrian flag standing up well to the competition from Ginetta G15 and Clan Crusad...

Re: Fuel pumps

I have not had any problems with a Facet 'cube' over a 25 year period. I fitted it new to an engine producing about 100bhp, together with a pressure regulator and it's own filter to suit the SU fed engine. It has never missed a beat or needed any maintenance.

Re: Which might be the best MK for a 6'1 ish driver

I would suggest that either MK 7 or 8 would be best especially with a need to wear a helmet. I'm 6 ft ish and Ok for height in my Mk8 and brothers Mk7, but I found his Mk6 too tight for comfort. You can see from the posts on here about modifications for 'bubble' roofs that other people find the earl...

Re: Tyre pressures

Lots of factors seem to determine suitable tyre pressures, but one of the criteria seems to be dependent on the amount of camber on the front and the amount of understeer that is considered appropriate. Original Imps had positive camber caused by raising the front of the car to get the lights at the...

Re: Lose the roof

Try this link on the New Davrian Register site http://www.john.rawlins.com/ndr1/_wp_ge ... 4c1594.jpg it clearly shows that the monocoque can manage without a roof.
I'm sure John Rawlins will have more info on the car and can probably give you some suitable contacts

Re: caster !!! to much

Hi Dean, Glad the car is going well in the main and hope your development continues to improve it. Interested to hear that you are finding the caster too much(I think there may have been some confusion with camber in a previous post?). My understanding is that the large amount of caster that the Imp...

Re: brake shoes

Good to hear that handbrake working well. Good luck with mot!
Got an 'old fashioned' garage or two near here that are into older vehicles and competition cars so both understand our types of cars, and sensibly and safely apply the necessary rules!
