Thought you all might be interested to know that in France you can't attend a track day with a car less than 800kg if there are other cars on track the same day that are heavier.

I'm booked to go to Le Mans next Friday and the circuit just got in touch to tell me I have to take another car or get a refund. Can't believe it but rules are rules. I will have to take my fwd Audi A4 which is going to be pretty dull in comparison.

BTW I weighed by Davrian at the local rubbish tip and it's 661kg with all my turbo stuff on there so way short of the 800kg mark. I took my A4 fwd saloon car instead and had a cracking day out learning how to drive (with tuition) on a circuit. IT's given me food for thought on prepping my davrian for track days I have to say! brakes, cooling, worrying about anything that can shake loose.

I've done 4 track days in my Dav, all around Castle Combe, max session length around 20 minutes, I do push it hard but have never experienced any overheating, the engine is pretty mild though (a ported and polished sport), I'm running a Fiat Cinquento front rad, brakes were drums all round with VG95 linings but I have experienced some fade so I have upgraded to Mk3 Fiesta discs, I've also upgraded to comp driveshaft couplings as my fairly new standard ones are starting to break up. As for things falling off the only snag I've had is the rear brake back plates that have loosened off, so this time I'm going to use Loctite and spring washers
