Heaters
Anyone here got a highly effective heater set-up on a Davrian?
If so, can you please tell me how you managed it?
The one on Dolores was so feeble, I removed it after the first race meet in 2002 as though it was there weighing several kilos, I had to do 8am practice with a steamed-up screen because apart from not really producing any perceptibly warm air, it had no screen vent plumbing anyway....I forgot to fit it to the vents I'd cleverly installed in the dash top.
I know http://www.carbuildersolutions.com do a powerful heater for about £170 but I'd prefer a nice cheap proddy car solution as I haven't won the loto..

Re: Heaters
Subject to me keeping the car I was going to go for the 4.3Kw heater from CBS, seems ok for £132, a friend of mine has an old Morgan and uses one of those cheap as chips electric heaters and swears by it, not the most elegant solution but you don't need to plumb the and they can be picked up for £10

Re: Heaters
The heater in mk6 is so good the wife complains it to hot. I got it from
usa and with import and post it cost £80.00, its also quite small as
it mounted at the bottom of the passengers foot well. It has its own
water pump so the flow of hot water is very constant.

I think lack of flow may well be a major reason for my system's lack of heat.davrian6140 wrote:The heater in mk6 is so good the wife complains it to hot. I got it from

Dave, do you have a link or a name for the American heater?

Re: Heaters
HI Hal,
Just found the place were I got the heater from,
macsautoparts.com. part no 32-11955-1. It's gone
up in price since I brought it back in 2005 but it's
small and very good.

Got it!
http://www.macsautoparts.com/store/hot- ... -ford.html
But it's more expensive now (£173 sterling) than the CBS unit here

Re: Heaters
I have an adapted morris minor heater in my Mk8, too big, heavy and powerful. The very small cabin of a Davrian doesn't need loads of KW, just found these http://www.t7design.co.uk/index.php?mai ... cts_id=362 which look promising?
Re: Heaters
I like the look of that cheeser, good find

Re: Heaters
That'll do nicely!
You're right, Cheeser, 5 kw is like having 5 single bar electric fires going in the tiny space of the Davrian cabin, which can't be much more than 2m3.
2.2kw sounds far more sensible.
Talking heaters, I just found some humungous thing lurking in the passenger footwell of the Mk 7, I'd never noticed it before, and I've had the car since 2001! No idea what it's from, looks vaguely like it was torn out of an early Landrover.

Does anyone know the volume of a Davrian interior, in fact? Useful info for those of us in search of the ultimate heater....
