Is my mk5 still alive

Post by BARRY L »

I built it in 1972 DMB 18K finished in ford daytona yellow. Does anyone know its present history. What a fantastic car, family forced sale. The buyer bought it instantly when I took him for a spin around Ormskirk. Not knowing the roads managed to impress with the cars handling on a blind bend.

DVLA show DMB 18K as being Red and last taxed 1.4.81. Seems it may be in the standard Davrian position...in a garage somewhere awaiting attention!.

Hello Barry,
Yes your Davrian is still alive.I bought it 1984 from Park Garage in Bournemouth. I used it for a couple of years and then it was stored in a barn for some 15 years.
8 years ago I did a rebuild , and my sons and I use it with great enjoiment. It is now red but was originally yellow.
Best regards
Lars

Hi Lars So glad to hear from you .Glad you are still having fun with the dav. Do regret selling it , but it was great fun to build and own. If we are ever in Sweden would like to see it again.
