Hi Dean,

I suppose my first question would be where did the new kingpin kit come from?. When i replaced the pins on my Mk6 i purchased the kit in an old quinton hazel box at an autojumble. When i pressed the bushes in the pins were so tight i had to ream them to give a few thou clearance for the grease and they are fine. I repair classic cars as a living and sending 'new' parts back because they are NFG is the bane of my life at the moment.

I had the same trouble ,bad fit in bushes so I made some fos bronze bushes
and reamed them out to fit. Like dave I have the lathe to do on. I'm
also looking in to fitting needle rollers as they will last much longer.
Just a tip grease once a month does not take to long and will prolong
king pin life.

Strange thing i changed a few bits around, one bush moved swapped pins from one side to the other all done !!
No play i would say as good as i can get,i only want to get the car out on the stages im not sure but the caster looks a bit off so i may upgrade to ldv pins, and parts to make it all work.
Still dont have my hubs back so she cant go back on her wheels, starting to get tight inside now, with out the seats, dummy run on the front calipers, note the blue flap i have put ontop the door to stop water getting in on those wet stages !! need to run aeroquip brake lines to handbrake, get the cooper lines out.
Slow but getting there.
