There’s not much activity on the site anymore so I thought I’d post an update after a long period of not using the Mk6a.

I have rebuilt the carb with new choke sliders, float, needle valve, etc - the chokes were stuck solid hence it was difficult to start in the cold. I’ve also given it a good clean and it now starts easily and runs sweet with no pops and bangs.

Now for the new front end with pop up headlights to be fitted and then paint.

I might insure it and use it for the summer.

Nice to see some activity on here at last. How's things with you? And when's the car back on the road?

We are well thanks. The car is roadworthy still and exempt from tax and MOT so just needs insuring when the better weather comes. I want to get the windows in, replace the dash and paint it this year.
