Davrian Mk 6a
Re: Davrian Mk 6a
A long time since I did any work on the old girl (a year to be precise!) but I managed to find some time over the Xmas holidays to finish the engine. Just the carb rubbers to order and I should be able to fire her up.
Here are some pictures to share on the engine progress - all reconditioned and ready to go...hopefully!!

Re: Davrian Mk 6a
Managed to do a bit more over the weekend and almost finished the carb rebuilds - just missing a choke plate that I need to make up and the new fuel delivery pipes that my brother is making up (he's the clever one with access to machinery to do the turning and aluminium welding).
Started to prep the bulkhead by filling in various holes so that I can fit the fuel pumps and fuel pressure regulator...once these are done I should be able to fire her up.
The bulkhead will need a fair bit more work before it will be ready for paint and I may look at plumbing in some heat for those winter days to keep the screen clear and my feet warm...

Slowly but surely coming along...
My brother has made the new fuel pipes and vacuum take-offs so I can balance the carbs - so not much longer now and I'll be able to start her up.

I think I recognise that manifold . Glad you got it home safely, I had visions of it falling out of your rucksack during your ride home on the motorbike!
Good to see it taking shape.
Cheers

What carbs are those?
I have an 875 Sport unit with twin Strombergs, two 1040s with twin DCOE 40 Webers, and a 995 Sunbeam trials engine on SUs but I don't think I recognise those!

They should be great I'd have thought, just a question of jetting and spot on synch...do you have something to synch them with like a Morgan CarbTune?
