I know that I have seen these million times on "a car", but cannot get my head around from which car they are originally from?

Hillman avenger originally then found their way on to other cars, i have a pair on my Jensen Healey.
They come up NOS on ebay quite often at very reasonable money.

There is currently only 5 NOS units for sale on eBay just under Hillman Avenger, so not really the most unique part
Surely more under Jensen Healey Lotus Talbot Chrysler Talbot ...

Re: Mk5 door handles - from which car?
I think our Mk 7 has Marina handles. It also has the cutout in the B post for the hidden latch.....
I used Lancia Beta units on the Mk 4....which look very similar.
